What if the most important AI conversation has almost nothing to do with the technology?
I joined John M. Jaramillo on his podcast, The Book Leads Podcast, to talk about An Inbox Between Us and the path that led me to write it, starting with a curiosity about technology when I was a kid.
The conversation moved beyond the book and into the human behavior underneath it: the behavioral record every organization builds, the role of self-awareness and proximity in AI adoption, authenticity as a leadership skill, and the storytelling, myths, and unwritten contracts that shape how work actually gets done.
At the center of the conversation is the idea the book is built on: AI is not here to replace human judgment. It is here to make the absence of judgment visible. What organizations discover when they apply AI to their work is rarely something new about the technology. It is something they had stopped seeing about themselves.
This episode looks at AI through the lens of a book, but the deeper conversation is about human responsibility: what we owe the work, the organization, and ourselves before we hand any of it to AI.
